Ivy House, Sutton Lane

Terry Adams - November 2008

The deeds give the date this house as 1976. As of 2008 is still as originally built, having had no alterations or extensions.

The house was built on part of the plot of land that belonged in the first part of the twentieth century to the Trevelyan-Lees. This plot stretched from Wych Wood, on the junction of Sutton Lane and Main Street, to the John Port Trust land that is now home to the cricket pitch. It reached back to Main Street and stretched as far as the Rectory, which was not then ‘The Old Rectory’.

The Trevelyan-Lees lived in The Gables on Church Hill and Mr. Trevelyan-Lee was Town Clerk of Derby.
